Commentary :
Around 25,000 years ago, the repeated production of regular, standardized blades lead to the appearance of the first normalized projectile points.
With their long straight edges, Gravette points are highly effective for hunting large prey.
The reaction time of hunters is greatly reduced, by carrying a stock of points already hafted onto interchangeable foreshafts, allowing them to instantly re-arm their spears.
Gravette points form part of the extraordinary technological achievement of a system of fulfilling anticipated needs that is completely devoted to the success of hunting expeditions.
